Mike Judge is nothing if not a true original. His comedies, live action and animations (Beavis and Butthead, King of the Hill, Office Space, Idiocracy) have made history of cultural satire on both small and big screens. Last year his latest offering Silicon Valley, took HBO by storm with an overdue and hilarious skewering of the tech overlords that rule our lives from the Valley of Silicon and the nerds who serve them. Now Richard (Thomas Middleditch), Erlich (T.J. Miller), Gilfoyle (Martin Starr), Dinesh (Kumail Nanjiani) and Jared (Zach Woods) are back for more coding and digital hi-jinks as they attempt to steer their compression company, Pied Piper, through the treacherous waters of high-tech startup-dom. The HFPA’s Rocio Ayuso spoke to Thomas Middleditch and T.J. Miller about what makes the show (and them) tick (hint: apparently has to do with dairy cows and dinosaurs).
